By Claire FitzSimmonds I’ll be belting these songs at the top of my lungs this year. All year long! Bang Bang – Jessie J with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj
She mighta let you hold her hand in school, but I’mma show you how to graduate. That last little bit of resentment toward people from college I haven’t seen in three years? OVER. DONE.

The Phantom Tollbooth: The novel that grows up with you. By Marie-Claire DeJarnett Over the course of my 20-or-so years of reading, many books have contributed to who I am and how I think – Little Women, The Poisonwood Bible, Bossypants – but The Phantom Tollbooth is the first one I can remember wanting to re-read as soon as I’d finished it. What’s not to love about an adventure in a land of talking “watch”dogs, policemen riding on dachshunds, and princesses who have been banished to a castle in the sky? Written by Norton Juster and published in 1961, the book is considered a classic of children’s literature and is beloved by both critics and readers. Its intricate patchwork of puns, careful character development, and beautiful storyline create an amazing feat of children’s writing. But as I got older and continued to re-read the book, I learned what all fans of The Phantom Tollbooth know: This book is for grownups, too. By Jesse Powell The magic of Christmas comes in many varieties, some universal and some very unique. I am a huge fan of quite classic traditions like lots of baked treats, hot cocoa in festive Christmas mugs, and most holiday music. (I say most. Do not come near me with that awful donkey story they call a song.)
People use stories to share magic, and who doesn't love a good movie to tell a story? There are countless Christmas stories, some based on actual events and others just fantastical whimsy. My favorites tend to fall into the latter category. The fine line between storytelling and social responsibility By Claire FitzSimmonds Meghan Trainor says she has ‘all the right junk in all the right places’ and declares that her ‘mama told her not to worry about her size’ because ‘boys like a little more booty to hold at night.’ And people are annoyed. Because women shouldn’t base their body image off of what men want, and we should be teaching young girls to embrace their bodies because they like how they look, not because a man might. An article on Bustle re-wrote All About that Bass to be more ‘body-positive and inclusive.’ I get it. But I’m annoyed. Young girls and boys (and older girls and boys) are inundated with images of how they need to look, and a truly empowering pop song would actually affirm all body types rather than calling size twos ‘skinny bitches.’ But is that Meghan Trainor’s responsibility? To write an empowering pop song? Or a catchy one that she likes to sing? By Christie Gleason GUYS, Christmas is almost here and I could not be more thrilled. There are so many things to love about this festive season and one of them is the holiday music that is everywhere from Thanksgiving until December 26th. We took to Spotify to find the best and most varied Christmas playlists for you guys and I think the ones we've selected will appeal to anyone and everyone. Enjoy! A Soulful Christmas Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J. Blige? Don't mind if I do! By Elizabeth Purvis *Potential Spoilers Ahead* I recently watched every episode of Veronica Mars in quick succession. I’ve wanted to see it since I heard there was a movie coming out this year. I knew I didn’t want to see the movie without seeing the show first. Turns out unemployment gives you A LOT of free time to marathon TV shows. It was all worth it, because Veronica Mars does not in any way disappoint. 1. Veronica is unapologetically intelligent. I usually hate when teenagers are depicted as equal to adults because with they are demanding respect when they haven’t earned it. However Veronica actually is deserving of that respect. She gets things done, in and around the law, and her goal in any case is to find the truth. The adults around her value their egos over the truth.
By Amanda Paschal Every Thursday, we’d like to pause and take a moment to remember one of the finer moments in pop culture’s past. Let's hear it for flared jeans, bulky turtlenecks, and Hilary Duff’s days on the Disney Channel. Nothing says "Merry Christmas" better than that. By Seline Jung Synopsis: “Seoul Searching” is an ‘80s romantic teen comedy about a diverse group of Korean high schoolers from around the world coming together at a summer camp in Seoul in 1986 to learn what it means to be Korean, a side to them they know little about. The story focuses on three boys from the U.S., Mexico and Germany and the three girls they meet who change their lives forever.
For the last six months I have been on the team of an upcoming indie movie called “Seoul Searching.” I first started out as an awkward girl on the set shooting behind-the-scenes photo and video trying to capture candid moments while trying hard not to be creepy or intruding (there were several crew members who blatantly did not like what I was doing). And since August I’ve been working as a post-production assistant to the director. I have seen the film grow from production and all the drama on set to the editing process to test screenings to marketing and finally, the biggest stage yet: ACCEPTANCE INTO THE 2015 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL! WOOHOO! By Alyssa Miles 25. FRIENDS Episode--The One With the Holiday Armadillo Okay, I know. This isn't actually a movie, but it is the PERFECT way to kick off the season. You cannot have Christmas without Santa, an Armadillo and Superman. 24. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Refuse to have a holiday pass without stop animation! REFUSE! 23. The Santa Clause

I'm tearing up already. Reasons I Love the Baddest Boss in Primetime TV By Kiley Shuffett WARNING: SPOILERS Pop some popcorn and pour a glass of your favorite wine....fellow Gladiators, let's chat. As far as Scandal goes, I was a late bloomer. I started the series while on the treadmill this summer and pretty much didn't get off the treadmill until I was completely caught up. Whether I take every single detail of the complicated web of a storyline seriously is neither here nor there. I’m just here to talk about our white-hat-wearing friend, Olivia Pope. You know, THIS Olivia Pope...
