girl-ish
By Elizabeth Giaritelli Hey beautiful ladies! As you (hopefully) get to know me better in these coming posts, you'll realize that I like to get my moneys worth out of an article of clothing. Those "year-round" pieces are my favorite. But what about the other items in our closets? For example, what do you do with that stunning maxi dress you pulled the trigger on in the Spring? Do you already have to throw it in a suitcase mentally labeled "summer" under your bed?! My goal with this post is to show you three different ways to transition that gorgeous frock into the colder months. The second look features a pullover sweater. Cropped sweaters are in every store right now and they make for the perfect add-on to your maxi dresses. It’s essentially providing you the option to get a dress AND a skirt out of the garment. And who doesn't want that? I took the challenge of using a longer sweater I picked up at Buffalo Exchange last week, particularly because I loved the color against that blue in the dress and I just love style challenges. I simply twisted one side of the fabric into a bun and tucked it into itself. Some material won't let you do this as easily but give it a try! The third look requires an additional layering piece, which in this case is a denim jacket. I wanted to give this look more of a rustic/country feel which is why I incorporated the brown leather belt and harness boots from Frye company. I hope these looks provide you with some inspiration to be creative with your favorite summer frocks. Enjoy!
