girl-ish
By Alyssa Miles As an obsessive Dallas Cowboys fan that is also obsessed with clothes, it's always fun to browse fan outfitters for something cute to wear during the season. I'm a classic jersey kinda gal myself, but this year while I was looking for something new, I couldn't help but notice how hilarious/ridiculous some of the lady options are. I don't just mean shrunken pink and shiny jerseys or earrings. Obviously you need to see them too, in honor of the Super Bowl--which yes, I realize the Cowboys did not make....but a girl can dream, right??? 1. Not into the idea of a regular jersey? You can wear this jersey dress that might even cover your ass, as long as you're under 5 feet tall.
Tips for Discovering Your Personal Style By Cassandra Ernst We are all on a serious quest in this world. The quest to discover your perfect style. Whether we’re at home, work, or out with friends, we want a look that transcends the department store and makes us look effortlessly put together and uniquely ourselves.
It may seem like a struggle, but the reality couldn’t be further from the truth. To find the perfect, effortless style, you just need to do a little self-reflection and a little window shopping. 1. Go Shop! Featuring Taylor Lamoureux I don't know about you, but I am already hitting a winter slump. I'm longing for the warmth of spring and summer and the mostly sunny days they bring. Today we've decided to share Taylor's adorable and uber-stylish Emilio Pucci outfit so we can daydream about the far-off warmer months. Let's try not to be TOO jealous that Taylor lives in Miami...
By Melissa Moon The struggle is real, y'all. Ever since I can remember, I have had fat ass calves. Now, don't get me wrong, I love a lot of things about my calves. Well, I love about as many as one can love about one's calves, which isn't a ton. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not one of those, "My legs are awful and I hate myself" girls. What I'm really trying to say is,"I WANT TO GO INTO A STORE, TRY ON A PAIR OF BOOTS, AND BE ABLE TO ZIP THEM UP!" For some reason, despite a diet built around buffalo chicken and an incredibly lacking exercise regime, I have really muscular calves. LOL. That sounds so weird to say, but it's true. And due to their rock-solidness, I cannot tell you the number of times I have walked into a store, fallen in love with a pair of boots, and broken into an actual sweat trying to get them on...followed by crying. (Okay...not every time, but when they are discounted, Chinese Laundry over-the-knee boots EXACTLY like the ones Blake Lively wore on Gossip Girl, you gotta shed a few tears.) I have been brought down to my knees so many times- to the point where I finally sat myself down, took a bite of my boneless buffalo wings and said out loud, "I have fat ass calves." Admitting it is the first step, ladies (the same goes for Resting Bitch Face, but that's a whole other story). Featuring Amanda Day Hat : Goorin Brothers

Let's make this a good one: get all fancy and treat yourself to a fun night out with your significant other or your best friends. The only thing more fun than celebrating a special occasion is making a celebration out of a normal day. Take your cue from Miss Kayla and slip into your perfect LBD!
By Christie Gleason Hello, friends and fashion lovers! The last time we sat down to discuss my style influences, we focused on the Classic/Minimalist look. I love that style and find it to be the easiest to wear, but sometimes I want to look and feel like a feminine, girly, chiffon-wearing Princess. I mean, who doesn't have those days? There's just something about going into a store and finding something so delicate and beautifully made. I find myself continually drawn to flowing dresses covered in detailed lace and intricate beading. I love long dresses, fit and flares, sexy fitted numbers, and that vintage style that makes me feel like I'm straight out of the 50's. I love red dresses, pink ones, pastel ones, and all-white ones. I love the drama of a unique black dress and the classiness of the perfect Little Black Dress. I love simple day dresses and dramatic, outrageously-detailed dresses. I. Love. Dresses. I think I need a 12-step program. A "girly" style isn't just about dresses. It's about those little details and touches that make you feel feminine and beautiful. Whether it's unique pearl earrings and fluffy pink sweater (as seen below) or a lacy top paired with skinny jeans, there are so many different versions of this look. What I love could be completely different from another woman's idea of feminine. It's what makes you feel beautiful and not to sound too cheesy, makes you smile! Check out the pictures below to see my sources of inspiration for my favorite feminine looks. Meet Melissa! Name: Melissa Moon Location: Lexington, KY Occupation: Teacher/Grad Student How would you describe your style? Eclectic; I like a little bit of everything. I don't subscribe to one particular style but I'd say it's 90's meets boho chic with a southern influence. Who or what influences your style? Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Hilary Duff. I'm influenced by clothes- I see clothes that I like and want to build off of that. Favorite designers: Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Betsey Johnson Favorite place to shop on a budget: Target, H&M, American Eagle |
